Navigating Inner Peace

A Journey Through Mindful Practices

Introduction:

Have you ever found yourself caught in the whirlwind of self-criticism, comparison to others, and worry about the future? In today's society, these struggles have become all too common. We're often hesitant to show our true emotions, fearing judgment from others, and our minds are constantly buzzing with overthinking, creating chaos in our lives. If you've nodded along to any of these, you're not alone. But what if there was a way to find peace among the chaos? In this blog post, we'll explore the transformative power of mindfulness practices for nurturing inner peace, offering a beacon of hope in a world that often feels overwhelming.

I believe the first step to finding inner peace is acknowledging there is a need for change. We need to do this without judgement, feeling bad or feeling guilty. Let me share a real life story I have been facing for quite some time. If you’ve subscribed to my blog, newsletters, or follow me on social media, you know that I have been on a pretty intense healing journey. I feel in my heart and soul I am being nudged or called to guide others on their journey. However, I get myself caught in the self-criticism game because I have pursued other ventures and “failed.” The last recent was a few years ago when I studied for the nutritional certification to become a Holistic Nutritional Coach. I was about to launch my first nutrition program when everything was halted. I tend to find myself overthinking about this new venture as a Personal Growth Coach and I’m afraid to fail again, but I am here to share with you what I am doing differently to find peace despite the overpowering ego that is trying to protect me from failing again.

  • I found myself a couple of mentors who are supporting and guiding me throughout this process. Having a community you can lean on has been profoundly helpful.

  • I’ve realized that true peace is found in fully embracing the present moment. It isn’t found by dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.

  • I’m learning to let go of control. I’m learning how to surrender to the flow of the universe and God.

  • I’ve learned that my failures are only temporary and they are guiding me to propel forward to something bigger and better.

  • I show gratitude in every situation whether that is a celebration or a lesson learned. There is something to be grateful for in every moment.

  • I’ve learned about the mind-body connection and I use practices like meditation, massage, Reiki, and sound healing.

  • I’ve become for self-compassionate and understanding rather than being self-critical.

  • I’m connecting myself with nature by going on walks and hikes.

  • I’m learning how to let my emotions flow. I have many years of practice with suppressing my emotions, but I’ve given myself permission to finally allow my emotions to flow freely and to accept them as they are.

All of this came from embracing and owning my own unique story and challenges. It has been a beautiful transformation from being shut down to being open and accepting to what can be. I want to see this for the collective hearts who share the same struggles.
